E-Rulemaking
E-rulemaking (or electronic rulemaking) refers generally to the use of digital technologies to enhance the ability of the public to participate in the development of Federal agency rules and regulations. E-rulemaking is also used specifically to refer to one of the E-Government Initiatives of the President’s 2001 Management Agenda aimed at integrating agency operations and technology investments. The stated goals for E-rulemaking are to make it easier for the public to interact with the government, increase efficiency, and save taxpayer dollars.
