E-Government
E-Government (electronic Government) refers to government’s focus on providing improved and secure online access for the public to the business processes of the Federal government. On December 17, 2002, Congress passed the E-Government Act of 2002 ((P.L. 107-347, 44 U.S.C. 3601-3606). The E-Government Act of 2002 defines E-Government as follows: “(3) ‘electronic Government’ means the use by the Government of web-based Internet applications and other information technologies, combined with processes that implement these technologies, to— (A) enhance the access to and delivery of Government information and services to the public, other agencies, and other Government entities; or (B) bring about improvements in Government operations that may include effectiveness, efficiency, service quality, or transformation;” (To view or download the E-Government Act of 2002 go to: http://www.RegulationWriters.com/library/E-GovLaw.pdf.
